Buc Days Valero High School Welding Competition April 22-24, 2010

This event was originated in 2006 to promote and foster the welding profession among high school students and to promote the work of the students at the annual Buc Days BBQ Challenge event. 12 area welding teams will design, build and display their BBQ Pits at this year's competition.

The winning teams will be awarded scholarship money for members of their program.

  • 1st Place - $1,500 Scholarship
  • 2nd Place - $1,000 Scholarship
  • 3rd Place - $500 Scholarship

Participating high school teams will also raise money for their school's process technologies programs through the sale of raffle tickets before and during the event.

Come on down to Buc Days, take a look at the BBQ Pits, buy some Raffle Tickets and have a chance to take one of these custom made pits home with you!

Raffle Tickets are just $5 each and 80% of every ticket sold will be returned to that Team's school for further development of their process technologies program.

Scholarship Winners to be announced on Saturday, April 24 on the BBQ Challenge stage.
